OneProsper builds a taanka (rainwater harvesting tank) for families with 2 girls. The taanka captures water during the summer monsoon. A full taanka can meet a family’s needs for 7-8 months. Afterwards, the taanka is refilled from pond water. The water from the taanka is then poured into a bio sand filter which is made locally.
Your donation helps make their dreams come true by providing girls with bicycles, school supplies and tuition for attending school.
OneProsper provides families with training and seeds to plant a garden using the Khadin method – an earthen bund which collects rainwater within an agricultural area. Water percolates into the soil and crops are planted in the wet zone. A Khadin results in a doubling of crop yields on average. Families grow grains in their Khadin for income generation and fruits & vegetables for their own nutrition.
