Manju

During the past year, Manju’s life has undergone a significant transformation. Previously, Manju walked 5-7 hours to collect water for her family.  She often suffered heat stroke while trekking across the desert.

Today, Manju is going to school.  A brand new rainwater harvesting tank provides clean water for Manju’s family.  She commutes to school on her brand new bicycle.  After school, Manju helps her mother to grow fruits and vegetables in their kitchen garden and grains on their farmland.  Water from a newly built Khadin (farming dyke) irrigates their crops.

Manju is grateful for the opportunity to complete her education.  She aspires to become a teacher and help uplift students in her village.
