OneProsper International Student Campaign – I AM THE CHANGE
OneProsper’s next goal is to help and raise money for a village of farmers in Southern India. In order to do so, OneProsper students are launching a new campaign for students, “I AM THE CHANGE”. The “I AM THE CHANGE” campaign will launch on Nov 26th, 2011 across Canada. Students across Canada will gather up in groups and receive training as ambassadors. After the training, each group of students will start fundraising in their local communities and raise as much money as they can to reach the goal of this campaign. The campaign will start with a three-hour training session, a 6 month long fundraising period and a summary banquet.
Goals:
Our goal is to raise money for a village of farmers in Southern India. Each smallholder farmer family requires $400 as the cost for the sustainable technology and training they need for farming. A small village has 250 families. Therefore, our goal for this campaign will be $100 000.
The campaign consists of three parts:
1. Training session
- Some highlights of the training session will be:
1) Workshop on organization establishment, fundraising and leadership skills.
2) Visionary strategies
3) Terms & Strategies for Fundraising
4) Fundraising brain storm sessions
5) Network opportunities
2. Fundraising period
- After the training session, students will establish their local fundraising team. They will work together and fundraise until the fundraising period ends which will last for 6 months.
3. Final summary banquet
- When the campaign is done, we will summarize our year with an exciting banquet. In the banquet we will be also giving out awards and scholarships.
Benefits:
Student enrolled in this program will receive invaluable experience and skills. Not only will students receive community volunteer hours, but they will also build leadership, communication, sales, organizational and presentation skills. Also, they will have the opportunity to learn from and talk to influential speakers and prominent role models in the non-profit community.
After the fundraising period is over, we will summarize our year with a final banquet where we will be giving out our scholarships and awards to the winning teams. Whichever teams raised most amount of money will receive a scholarship from our sponsors as well as recognition from OneProsper International.
