SkyLink Children’s Charity
Richa & Atul Aggarwal Foundation

Puja is 10 years old. She lives with her parents and siblings (2 brothers and 2 sisters).

Like many girls living in the Thar Desert, Puja wakes up at 5:00 am and then helps her mother to collect water for the family. She will likely take on more household responsibilities as she grows older. Puja is extremely shy and did not provide much additional information on her aspirations.

Thanks to the generous support our donors SkyLink Children’s Charity and Richa & Atul Aggarwal Foundation; Puja will be able to dedicate her full attention towards her studies. Her family will soon have its own rainwater harvesting tank which will enable Puja to attend school rather than walk long distances to collect water.

Our Holistic Solution

Clean Water

OneProsper International will build a rainwater harvesting with biosand filter for Puja’s family. The tank will capture water during the summer monsoon and can be refilled from pond water. This will enable Puja to attend school rather than walk long distances to collect water.

Puja will receive a bicycle, schools supplies and tuition to attend school.

Food & Income Generation

Puja’s family will receive training to setup a garden using Khadin cultivation. *

* A Khadin is an earthen bund that contains rainwater within an agricultural area.  A khadin is one of the most effective and sustainable methods for promoting crop growth in water-scarce regions.
